Conservatory upgrade for a year round usable family space

The Holmes family were experiencing the all too familiar problems which many homeowners experience with an old conservatory. They found that their conservatory was far too hot in summer and much too cold during the winter. Their extended living area was available to use but was not functioning to the required standards.

In order to rectify the problem, we visited the site to see what would be the best way to improve the conservatory’s performance. We recommended new glazing throughout the conservatory to improve thermal efficiency and a new tiled roof system to create a cosier, more permanent feel to the conservatory’s interior and help to further enhance thermal performance.

New windows, doors and UltraROOF installation

For the new windows and doors, we suggested energy efficient glazing from the Deceuninck Heritage Collection. Deceuninck Heritage windows are designed to emulate the appearance of traditional timber windows with all the benefits of modern high performing uPVC. With multi-point locking systems as standard and an A+ rating for energy efficiency, they are the epitome of modern performance and traditional style. The Holmes family chose a matching set of French doors to perfectly complement the new windows and fit in with the property’s overall appearance.

For the replacement roof, we selected the super-insulated UltraROOF from Ultraframe. The UltraROOF is a high tech roofing system which incorporates full length glazing panels into the tiled design. The carbon grey tiled exterior is contemporary and stylish, adding a touch of class to this installation. Inside the conservatory, we completed all the plastering and electrics, achieving Building Control approval on all the works. The Holmes family are now enjoying their transformed conservatory which provides a luxurious living space to use all year round.
