LivinROOF for comfortable conservatory living

The main cause of heat loss in a conservatory is a poorly insulated roof, an issue that is highly apparent with older glass and polycarbonate variants. This old conservatory roof was no exception to that rule, meaning a replacement was required. To ensure heat loss remained a thing of the past, the Lifestyle team installed a LivinROOF with feature glazing and decorative cornice. LivinROOFs are constructed from insulating composite panels, meaning the conservatory could now be used without feeling the cold, whilst the decorative cornice ensured Incorporating glazing into the roof meant that the conservatory was still able to let in plenty of light too. With winter just around the corner, darker and colder days are shortly upon us, meaning the timing of this installation could not have been better!

Timber windows and doors for warmth, style & more

Similarly to old conservatory roofs, old windows and doors can also be big culprits for heat loss. So to further improve the energy efficiency of this old conservatory, replacement windows and doors were also fitted. Chosen for the task were stunning timber windows and doors courtesy of the George Barnsdale selection. These windows utilise the natural beauty of timber to the fullest extent, ensuring for an elegant looking conservatory once work was completed. Plus, their energy ratings are some of the highest on the market (A and above). Boasting an impressive acoustic performance too, this conservatory is now not only considerably warmer, it’s also much quieter than before, meaning it’s the perfect space in which to unwind.

Interior refurbishment for the feel of an extension but the openness of a conservatory

After finishing the exterior work, there was still plenty to be done on the interior to get this conservatory looking its best. Fortunately, an added benefit of our LivinROOFs is that we also plaster the interior ceiling, ensuring it feels just like an extra room of the house. Recessed spotlights were then integrated into the ceiling, increasing the homely feel, whilst new window and skirting boards were fitted to add an additional touch of decoration. Now, this conservatory looks and feels like an extension of the home, but with the benefit of additional light.
