New ground floor extension construction with house opening preparation

The Taylor family live in a modern detached property in Giltbrook. They wanted to extend their home and contacted Lifestyle Windows to carry out both the new extension build and the window, door, and roofline element of the project.

For the home extension, we constructed a large extended ground floor kitchen diner. The extension features a solid tiled roof with Velux windows to boost natural light. A set of Origin aluminium bifold doors open onto a tiled patio area with a matching Heritage flush sash window also installed into the rear elevation.

The extension construction project also involved preparing the opening to the house to create a stylish open plan living area. To complete the home extension, the exterior façade was finished with a bright white render with exterior lighting, guttering and roofline and weatherproof flashing.

To the front of the property, we carried out a full window and door replacement. The Taylor’s chose Heritage flush sash windows finished in aesthetically attractive Anthracite Grey to create a subtle and modern appearance to their ground floor bay window and upper storey windows. A matching Solidor composite door with three glass box design and chrome bar handle completed the contemporary upgrade.

We also replaced the soffits and fascias with matching grey uPVC roofline. These provide outstanding weather resistance capacity and are in perfect keeping with the rest of the property upgrade’s appearance. The Taylors are now enjoying an extended ground floor area with high spec interior design and making the most of the improved thermal performance and enhanced weather protection provided by their glazing and roofline upgrade.
